I’m Waleed Asad, a lecturer in auditing and financial reporting and a chartered accountant based in Dublin. My teaching draws on experience in audit practice at EY in Ireland and Kuwait, most recently as a Senior Audit Manager in Dublin.

At Trinity Business School, Trinity College Dublin, I teach Audit on the MSc Accounting and Analytics programme. At ICD Business School, I teach Advanced Auditing and Financial Reporting, and supervise MSc dissertations. I also teach Management Accounting at Dorset College Dublin.

I have taught and delivered professional training since 2014, including ACCA Financial Reporting and Strategic Business Reporting at the EY Training Centre in Kuwait. My work in Ireland also included leading audit training and development at EY.

I hold an MSc in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes University, ACCA’s Diploma in International Financial Reporting, and a Professional Diploma in Sustainable Finance Reporting and Disclosures from University College Dublin. I am an ACCA Fellow, an ICAEW Chartered Accountant and a Certified Internal Auditor.

I write Unaddressed! to explore questions that IFRS does not fully or directly answer. My interests include the application of IFRS, disclosure quality, audit quality and the use of AI and data analytics in audit.
